Chris Saine, the director for QAG/GOMA gave a critique on the morning after the opening of the 28th annual Art Whitsunday Inc.’s exhibition and for me turned into the highlight of the whole weekend. Very funny bloke. He knew he couldn’t ignore my work as it had him thinking and for this gave me highly commended and the advise that the work was not resolved. It posed as a sentinel in an emblematic way. I am fairly cryptic which is why he missed that the glass component is a wind turbine blade. Very comfortable with my first big piece of glass using a technique where a colour shift occurs as the viewer changes angle, I call this octopus skin. A few images have been added to the gallery.
